There are never any surprise travel charges.

Prenatal DNA testing questions

What is the difference between SneakPeek Clinical and NIPT?
SneakPeek Clinical is an early fetal sex determination test that can be collected from six weeks of pregnancy. NIPT is a prenatal screening test that evaluates the likelihood of certain chromosomal conditions and is typically coordinated with a healthcare provider. They answer different questions.
Is prenatal DNA collection done in person?
Yes. A trained NorthStar collector performs the maternal blood draw in person at your home, workplace, or another approved location. NorthStar does not offer mail-in or self-collected prenatal kits.
Does NorthStar perform the laboratory analysis?
No. NorthStar performs specimen collection and coordination only. Laboratory testing is performed by the laboratory partner, and results are delivered by that laboratory.
Can a prenatal test be used for court or immigration?
No. Prenatal fetal sex determination and prenatal screening are not relationship tests and are not prepared for legal proceedings or immigration petitions. For those needs, choose legal DNA testing or immigration DNA testing.
Are travel fees included?
The first 25 roundtrip miles from our Saginaw service origin are included. Beyond that, additional mileage is calculated and confirmed with you before the appointment is scheduled.
