These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the northstarlabservices.com website and all testing, collection, and coordination services provided by NorthStar Lab Services (“we”, “us”). By using our website or scheduling a service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

We provide sample collection, chain-of-custody documentation, and coordination with AABB-accredited reference laboratories for DNA testing. Laboratory analysis is performed by our accredited partners. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice.

2. Legal vs. Informational Testing

Legal (court-admissible) tests follow strict chain-of-custody and identity-verification requirements and are suitable for court, USCIS, or IRCC use. Informational / peace-of-mind tests use the same laboratory analysis but do not include witnessed collection or notarized chain-of-custody, and are not admissible in court or accepted by government agencies. You are responsible for selecting the correct test type for your needs.

3. Scheduling, Cancellation & Rescheduling

Appointments require confirmation from a NorthStar coordinator.
All required parties must present valid government-issued photo ID at collection.
Cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours before the appointment window may forfeit travel and scheduling fees.
Mobile travel fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable per the mobile collection policy.

4. Payment

Payment is due at the time of collection unless prior billing arrangements have been made (attorney invoicing or contracted accounts). We accept major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards where applicable, and business checks for approved accounts. Results are released only after payment has cleared.

5. Results Delivery

Results are released only to parties identified as authorized recipients at the time of collection. Turnaround times are estimates based on the reference laboratory’s current queue and are not guaranteed. Rush processing is available for eligible test types at additional cost.

6. No Medical or Legal Advice

Nothing on this website or in our reports constitutes medical, legal, or immigration advice. Consult a licensed physician, attorney, or immigration professional for advice about your specific situation.

7. Website Use

You may not use our website to attempt unauthorized access, transmit malicious code, scrape content for competitive use, or submit false information. We may suspend access to protect the integrity of our services.

8. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, and content on this website are the property of NorthStar Lab Services and are protected by United States copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce our materials without written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthStar Lab Services’ total liability arising out of or related to any service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Saginaw County, Michigan.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
